I have not checked those threads at this time - I've got a pair and they work fine at the gym for music but I've never really used them for voice communications. I know that they do "break up" when my BB is not located in a "proper" position while just walking. While at the gym, the bb is in a small fanny pack at my side. But when walking, if the bb is in a jacket pocket they tend to breakup the sound. If I place the bb in a backpack, it works fine.

I don't know if it is general radio interference with bluetooth or just very positional.

Hmm. I was going to put my device in my pocket. The only thing I do not like for now is the pulling on the ear phones when I pick my head up. Any issues with the device handling rain?

I've heard some forum members state the heaset doesn't take too kindly to sweat, rain probably would be worse.

(I've been looking for some stereo bluetooth headsets for running/gym but after hearing a few of the stories I turned away from it.)

I have a little bt adapter I bought on ebay. Looks like an ipod shuffle. I plug in my earbuds. Use it for everything, including mowing the grass and snowblowing. Never had a problem yet.

I notice it doesn't do well outdoors with my bb in my pocket. I am now looking for an arm band. With my bb in my pocket indoors there is no issue

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

I bought the arm band that was sold through my carrier to see if it helps with the connection.

It is very curious why the s9's work indoors with the BB almost anywhere reasonably on the body but once you set foot outside, the signal breaks up. I found that when placed in a top flap pocket of my little backpack, they work almost perfectly. While the fanny pack (worn at the side) works fine in the gym (treadmill, bike, weights), it breaks up while walking around the neighborhood.

Happenin' akosnitzky thought i'd throw in my 2 cents worth here...

I was searching for bluetooth headphones for my Blackberry Bold and was considering the Motorola chappie you suggested there however the potential death through sweat scenario is neither appealing nor desirable for what you're paying for them so i spent £29 GBP (so circa $44) for a set of Sony DR-BT20NX Headphones off eBay and so far they have been excellent...

Downsides? Well the dongle-like part that hangs below does get a bit irritating if not tucked away somewhere however it does have a built in mic so it does double up as a bluetooth hands free headset as well so a conversation can be had in stereo!

Very good all rounder in my opinion

I recently went hiking wearing these and listening to music on my 8130. I had to clip the phone onto the hang-up tab on my coat so it wouldnt cut out. Course I had a hoody and heavy coat on, but even with the phone in the breast pocket it still cut out. actually worked out quite well when i clipped my phone onto that tab, but I couldnt get to the phone too well. so indoors they work great, as long as the phone isnt covered, outdoors, hit or miss.
