Default Keep Downloading Old Emails

Please Login to Remove!

For the past week or so, my BB8800 keeps downloading emails that were already downloaded before. This happened at least five times.

I am with Cingular BIS.

Anyone else had the same problem? Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you!

No, I don't sync with desktop manager. It just keeps downloading the old emails over the air.

I tried resend the service book. But the redownloading old emails happened again. This has become a madness.

Anyone has a solution?

This happens on BIS -Gmail.

Thank you!

It is driving me nuts. It downloaded old emails three times today.

I called Cingular/ATT tech support, they could not identify problem. They suggested that it could be a device problem.

I also noticed that only GMAIL has this re-downloading problem, while my other Google Hosted Apps emails do not have this problem.

On the call with RIM support now, they told me they are getting more report of this issue.

So if you experience the same problem, please post it here so we can gather more info to get this fixed.

Thanks!

Hi, I used to have old email being pushed twice, which is really annoying..
I used to use Delete Prior from my handset, but when I deleting my email manually, such problem never occurs to me again (it's been more than a month). Selecting all your email manually and deleting them is quite a task if you got hundreds of them, but it's better than having the old one pushed back into your device again
It happens on my Gmail account, never on Yahoo.. so perhaps the problem lies with Gmail.

RIM acknowledged that this is a GMAIL problem based on a few user reports. They are working on a fix.

same problem. Cingular BIS, 8300. six or seven times over the last month or so it has re-downloaded as new the latest 400 emails on a gmail account.
Deleted & recreated the account. pushed the servicebooks. disabled and reenabled pop access from the gmail side to no effect.
finally deleted the account from BIS & went back to push from the gmail side.

having the same issue with Gmail. I'm on T-Mobile and the last few days, it pushes like 120 emails down. The new emails are always timestamped the current time and date. I've disabled my POP access to gmail until this is resolved and I'm using the Gmail app for now.
