Default Frustrated anyone else? Battery door!!?!?!

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so when I put my storm in my jean pocket and catch one of the clips just right it pops one side of the door off :(

So I tried to put it in backward, and it does it when I pull it out of my pocket.

What a stupid design!

Maybe you should try to find some kind of sleeve/pouch for the storm or a side belt clip ect. I would not recommend anyone putting there storm directly into there pocket without being in something, because over time pocket lint and stuff will gather up under screen.

For some reason, I love the design. I sometimes wear some pretty tight jeans and have not had a problem.

RIM makes leather pouches for other BBs that have the magnet function, (no belt clip pretty slim) for pocket/purse people. Have you looked there? Ebay has them a lot cheaper than RIM for other BBs, I haven't looked for the Storm, but people say the Curve pouch works for the Storm just fine. I got one for $4.50 shipped.

Hey, I actually use a rubber case and a leather holster for my storm. I find that it works the best. I noticed (with my previous blackberries, the 8830 and the 8330) that they often slip out of your holster, especially when it's horizontal on your belt. This rubber case keeps them from sliding out, even if the leather strap with the magnet comes loose. Sure, at first, the rubber case is incredibly hard to take out of the holster, BUT I'm 100% sure that as you wear it out, it'll come out in a firm but smooth way.

Just my two cents G'luck trying to find the best way to protect your storm

Edit: For the leather case, I make sure to use one built for the curve. for some reason, it fits better to me. A friend of mine uses a leather case for the 8800 and it works well for him as well. Both were purchased (unfortunately) at an ATT store.

This one is nice. They also have a fake leather one for a few bucks less that Verizon sells. The real leather one (link below) is smooth and will not be a problem sticking in your pocket.

That's the one to get. I got 2 for my Pearl (black and brown). I think my wife's RIM pouch is fake leather, OK but not the same. The Verizon one for the Storm has a strap that goes over the top. Pass.

Those pouches seem terrible to me. First you have to get it out of your pocket and then you have to get it out of that damn pouch (no easy task) and then hit the answer key all before your damn call goes to VM.

are these really thin?
They wont fit in my pocket normally since they are kind of on the thicker side

The certainly aren't as thin as the Seidio hard cases (the thinnest IMO). I'd say the pouches are about 1/16-1/8 inch thick on each side, and widen the width profile about 1/4 inch. The plus is that they protect the whole phone in your pocket (except the top of course), and you don't have to use the sleep button ever nor need a screen protecor. The minus is that you have to remove it to answer a call and use it, then put it back. This gets to me a habit. The Seidio thin case won't really protect the phone much if you drop it, it'll shatter. It's hard to get off (many clips-they break) for a battery pull too. I had one, it finally broke taking it off.
