Default i think i broke my 9500 whilst updating

Please Login to Remove!

i tried updating the OS to .109 beta for vodaphone. i downloaded the file, installed it, restarted PC, plugged the BB in, started up the DM, clicked app loader, it came up with lots of things that were to be updated. (this is before i get anywhere near the software version window) so i click ok, and it starts updating it all.
Great, i thought, must be newer version of the OS updating.
so it gets just over half way on the progress bar then stays there for about an hour. The BB has a blank screen at this point. i think somethings hanging, so click cancel, and when that doesnt work, i ctrl+alt+del and end program.
The BB is still doing nothing, and the pc wont recognise its plugged in anymore.
So i pull the battery, and now all i get is a red light flashing, a double flash then a pause, like this: -- -- --

SO.... is it knackered? can i do anything to fix it? Im bummed, ive only had it a few days.

Wipe the blackberry and reload the os software. Use JL_Cmder to wipe.

thanks for that... just tried it.

right, jl_cmder doesnt work for me, it doesnt bring up the error 507 like it should. I have tried about 6 times and tried a different USB port as well...

then i tried going through the command prompt, which brought up the following after the wipe command: COM error during open: (0x80040001) Error: unable to open port

any ideas?

thanks, ive started that, i had no bother finding "usb pin unknown" bit, (although it never came up with COM to start with which is strange)

it says unable to connect to the device...

now what?

wtf?
i went away for a while, and when i came back the progress bar had went to nothing. the "load JVM and system software" at the top of the list was ticked - does that mean its finished that task or is it still doing it? if so then it would be waiting for device initialization.... but its been a minute or two at 0 progress...

anyone know anything? I would like to leave it overnight and hopefully come to it in the morning to find it sorted.

BTW thanks so far!

so if the thing on the list is ticked, does it mean its done, or still being done? i just want to put my mind at rest.

right, its not going good.... ive tried twice with app loader, each time it comes up with an error with communication.

but what is strange is it comes up with USB-PIN:UNKNOWN as soon as plug it in with the battery removed.

is there anything else i can do? im at the end of my tether here.

if its permenantly broke, will the phone shop swap it and have no problem with the fact i was trying to upload beta software?
