Default should I get tmo 8800

Please Login to Remove!

I finally broke my bb so it officially a crackberry I am thinking to get the 8800 tmo of course but with all the craziness from Tmobile of it not available in the stores and only from the net to new customers I'm angry.

Give me some advice it's been 6 days without my crackberry and I miss it and my clients think I'm on vacation. :(

PS I'm too cheap to buy an unlock BB for 450

I got my 8800 from a local T-Mobile 2 months ago with an extended contract purchase, I guess I was lucky enough that they were one of the rare stocking stores in Socal. Other than the keyboard the phone is amazing.

Smile Microsoft?

Has anyone heard a rumor about microsoft acquiring the u.s. operations of t-mobile?
I think it would be a good thing. Get some order in what can at times be great disorder.

Anything Microsoft touches turns into a monopoly and a disaster... If such a thing were to ever happen, they'd run it into the ground....

Got some links to back this up? That sounds silly to me, I could just barely believe microsoft launching their own MVNO. Buying an estabilshed brand, no.

Lots of rumors, no hard facts. Heck, there's even been a recent rumor about Microsoft buying RIM! And remember, a rumor is not responsible for who believes it.

Default tmobile upgrade

I just wish they would spend somemoney on upgrading the speed of their service. This EDGE system is wanting.

8800 on the T-Mobile website has been showing "out of stock" for quite some time now.. in addition to not showing up for upgrades. This is similar to when the Sidekick 2 showed as Out Of Stock for a month or so before the 3 came out. I have a feeling an upgraded version will be released on Monday alongside the Curve.

Yes. Check the sticky for the latest OS in the 8800 forum. The latest is 4.2.1.103.

Is anyone running an unlocked 8820 on T-Mobile yet? Just trying to see if the Wi-Fi still works fine along with GPS

This would be a brilliant subject for a new, dedicated thread.

From a conversation today with a TMO rep (of course they dont know too much, but...) they will not be carrying the 8800 any longer due to poor quality and performance.

I personally have sent back 4 8800's, one even before I could send the other out. I thought it was a certain batch or wharehouse or it was a refurb (it wasnt) or something to help me explain why all of the phones were a piece of crap.

The earpeice is a constant problem, I don't like to use the BT headset unless I am driving due to constant drops from the OS and when I plug in the OEM headset the ring surrounding the jack on the BB breaks of in tiny peices. They are sending me a curve as a replacement but IMO I think I will go back to the 8700, it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles but quality beats cosmetic anyday for me.

I will be selling my 8800 in the BuySellTrade section, I hope the curve does better than the 8800.

I thought the keyboard was very poorly designed. Besides that, everything worked for me but I think I may have been the exception.
