Does it count if my BB was activated on 12/30/04? 7100t from TMO; no complaints so far beyond the not-to-be-unexpected aggravations associated with cell carriers and wireless/internet technology in general. Thanks to everyone here for their tireless efforts in educating us newbies; I'll try to return the favor by responding to some of the questions from fellow newbies that you must've answered a thousand times by now

I got my first BB on Feb 12, 2005. It's a 7290 from Rogers.

It has become an addiction.

I've been a lurker until now, but I must say that reading all the info available on this board has answered all my questions and helped me to make the right decision.

got it yesterday 7100g. Data stuff wasn't enabled until today I think (still sitting at home since I hadn't gotten anything useful on it yet, don't have a decent case etc. etc. May not technically be my first BB. I had some rim pagers years ago (had some quality/battery issues with them) but need for paging and stuff wasn't there anymore.

I got my Nextel 7520 in January. One of my co-workers got one also. We also bought the small business version of BES 4.0 which we just maxed out today because we got 2 more 7520s. We now have 4 Nextels and one Verizon 7750.

Not quite yet but it's getting close. I'm just waiting on Uncle Sam to give me back my money and then I'm off to the Nextel store. In fact I've already downloaded the BlackBerry JDE 4.0 and have been putzing around with making apps for it.

If anybody has any suggestions of simple apps that need to be written please let me know. Obviously I'd have to start with something simple as I'm an old programmer who's rusty on Java and new to BlackBerry's. Plus I have a son arriving in ~7 weeks so I don't know how much time I'll have right away. 8)

I've had a blackberry for about 4 weeks now.

For the first two weeks I had an AT&T BB 7290, then returned that when Verizon Wireless came out with the BB 7250.

Just got my berry (7230 with tmo) a few weeks ago. It more than met my expectations of what I was hoping to get out of this cool device. I'm hearing impaired so, of course, I love the email aspect of it. I work with deaf and hard of hearing students and cover a very large geographical area, so I've been using it to record data and then transferring it to my computer at my main office for printing. One unexpected surprise of my BB is using it as my alarm clock--I slip the BB under my pillow and the vibration get me up! The snooze feature is great also. So I start and end my day with my BB! Can you tell how much I'm enjoying this?

Anyway, thanks so much for all who contributes to the board. It really makes a difference in my understanding of how to use my BB.

I ordered my 7250 from VZW on the 21st and should have it tomorrow! (I work for the company, hence the long wait!)

I can't wait to get this beast in, I've done so much reading...I'll know how to use it before I ever get it.

Woke up on New Year's Day to find my car battery dead, so to brighten my mood I walked to work, hopped online and ordered my 7520 from Nextel. Even despite a critical bug that required me to replace that first unit with another 7520, I've been sinking deeper and deeper into addiction. What a wonderful device.

I ordered my Cingular 7290 for use on my ATT/Cingular plan and it should be here on Saturday or Monday! I can't wait to get addicted!

By the way, once I call Cingular and tell them to add the BB service on my account, how long does it take before it starts to work?

I've had my BB 7520 for about a month now, and love it. I wish I have gotten a lot sooner. This board has taught me so much on how to use my BB, that I hardley have any other questions. So thank you to all of you older members.

Hey Crackberry,
If you ordered it from Nextel, next day shipping is included free of charge. You should ge it the next business day (assuming you ordered it the day before the mail cut off time). Maybe you should call them and ask about the shipping.

BTW - Welcome to the Blackberry bananza
