Default Force gmail IMAP in BIS 2.7

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All, I tried to add gmail using imap and I had no luck. When I put a wrong passwd I got a message so I have no choice to enter the correct. Any clues?

Best,
Jaime

Blackberry isn't true IMAP. It's unidirectional- if you delete or mark read on BB it will do so on the server but not vice-versa.

That true 2-way sync is a feature of BES only.

It's got some convenience caveats.. for example it's useless if you only use the messages app, you must use the associated gmail icon. Limited to thread conversations of 4 or less msgs in length, i also read in the comments that other things are screwy. In summary, it sounds like a nice try in the right direction, but just not there yet. Oh yeah, and no 2 way sync.

Guess I'll wait till they iron things out. Really wish they would provide 2-way read/unread sync. Isn't that what we really want?

You don't have to force BIS to use IMAP for gMail anymore! Just enter address and pass x 2.

When i try to do that i keep getting an error msg that the pw i filled in is not correct that that i needed to verify my gmail addy.

You don't have to change your BIS password. You have to change your gmail password in the BIS.
