Exclamation BES 5.0 - PIN Messaging Alert setup

Please Login to Remove!

Still fumbling in the dark regarding using BES 5.0, but with recent issues with our Exchange 2003 server, i find it handy that at least v5.0 allows me to send PIN messages to all my users, to let them know the server is offline (and they won't be getting any emails). Couldn't do this with v4.0 as when the mail server crashed, the BES Manager would not load. I used to use the APB feature of v4.0 when doing work on the BES to let all users know, just incase they were out of GPRS range and not see the emails, which worked well for us.

I tried this today in BES 5.0 for the first time, but the users all said the message in RED text came from 'admin@yourcompanydomain.com, instead of from my BESAdmin account. I have checked AD and the BES settings i know of, but cannot understand where it got this name from and how i can edit/fix it for the next time i need to use it.

Anyone know what i am on about, and know where this setting is???

yep, sure do. this is coming from the Sender Address that you specified in the 'Device Activation Settings' (can be found under 'Wireless activations')

Change the address there and send yourself some PIN's to test.
