I have seen several posts concerning viewing pdf files. My problem is this. I have a customer who has the ability to dispatch job via e-mail instead of my fax machine. It comes through my e-mail as a link. When I bring up the link to the web and hit the button to view dispatch, nothing happens. When I do that on my home pc adobe reader opens up the page on the web. So this is not an e-mail attachment I am trying to open, but actually a web address with a pdf. Does anyone know how to correct this issue. I bought this thing specifically for this use as this is my biggest customer and would save me a ton on paper, ink, and time to call the office.

Do you need a certain application to view PDF's? I've never been able to open them on my Curve. .

Cerience has a PDF viewer on Beta called Repligo Reader see if you can sign up for it. Works very well.

I have signed up for the second release of the beta test for the pdf viewer. Hopefully that will work. Unfortunately I am unable to provide a link on the web. These documents are by no means crucial but they do contain names, addresses and telephone numbers so I must respect the privacy of my customers. I appreciate your help in resolving this matter. Unfortunately I may have to go with a palm, I know those work with this application

I have BeamBerry installed on my 8130 and I can view PDF files. I tried opening a couple of web-based PDFs with the same result as you... nothing happened.

BeamReader, I think it's a very memory instensive application for just a simply PDF Reader.
Repligo Not a bad program.

I was also looking for a free PDF viewer. I couldn't find one either at first, and I was frustrated that a) there isn't one already built into my BB; b) nobody offered a free one. After much searching, I finally found a solution that seems to do the trick: Mobipocket Reader. Works great so far; and it's free.

Go to the website (mobipocket.com) on your computer and download (& install) the Mobipocket Reader program onto your PC. Then, go to the website again on your BB, and install the Mobipocket Reader application there too. Connect your BB to your computer, and run the Mobipocket Reader program from your PC. The program will detect and connect to your BB.

Next, use the Import function to import PDF files from your computer onto your BB [other file types can also be imported too]. Once you have all of your files loaded, disconnect your BB, run the Mobireader app on your BB and enjoy!

I'm pretty new to both Blackberry (less than a year) and Mobipocket (less than a week), so if anybody has any more useful information to add about this topic I'd be interested still...

There may be a bit of a language barrier here...I'm having trouble understanding your question. Are you saying that you installed Mobipocket already and are wondering how to use it to read PDF files? Or are you wondering how to install Mobipocket? Or something else entirely...?

Hmm...I've never tried to open any PDF file as an attachment on my BB...


I can tell you how to import existing PDF files from your computer to your BB using Mobipocket though. For an example, I have many eBooks that I wanted to bring with me on my BB to read during down times (commute train, waiting rooms, etc). So, using Mobipocket Reader, I have successfully done this. Works great too. I am not sure if it can be used to open attachments though.

However, from reading other threads, researching this subject, it sounded to me like BB can automatically open PDF attachments with no additional applications needed. But, like I said, I've never done that. Someone else is going to have to help you with that.
