Mine doesn't do that. Very interesting. The information stays on the screen, even thought it is locked.

I have not encountered that bug. I've tried to replicate it with no success.
I think this is easily the best software version to be released.

Hmm, now that I've rebooted it went away completely. I agree that this is the best software release, now only if they let me turn auto-dim off, I'd have nothing to complain about.

Have people stopped reading. Please do not spread mis information, the rogers and O2 8100 handheld OSs BOTH SUPPORT 2GB microSD cards. They work 100% fine with both OS revs.

I added another link in the original post for those users having issues. I've also updated my ALX thread.

I was told that in some cases it could take as long as 24 hours but it took about 5 hours for me.

Downloaded the software. Installed the Software (without deleting anything), and it was a perfect install. Not sure what it did to my Pearl, but as long as it didn't break anything, I'm happy. BTW, my 2 gig card is still working, for those who worried (about it for them, doubt they really worried that much about mine).

How does the O2 icon theme look compared to the Rogers icon theme?

anytime stac ;)
also, you can change the blackberry.alx anytime. before or after upgrading. just unplug your phone from the comp. update the alx file, replace it and plug it back in. the DM will alert you of a change.

actually, playing music while taking pictures will still set off the camera shutter. you just hear it with the music.
to truly turn it off, do that but plug in a headset (not bluetooth).
you have to play music/video to turn it "off" (it plays thru your headset instead) if not, it'll still play outside even with a headset plugged in.

Has anyone figured out how to "save" Rim Yahoo Messenger (not the OZ) when updating the OS? Both times I've done it I have had to go back and re-install it from the website. It seems the app doesn't register itself properly, so that when it comes time to upgrade it is not in the list of apps that can be set to "no action". It shows up on the later page that lists "unknown files that will be removed". Not a big deal, but an inconvenience.

sleep button now working properly
holding the sleep button on the top now works properly.
The phone goes into the sleep mode and STAYS there. Pushing the sleep button again wakes it up. No more does it switch to lock mode after a period of time.
This fix made my day!

I haven't done this update yet but when I upgraded to the Rogers update, my standalone Yahoo Messenger install followed without any problems. Yours may be an isolated incident.

Regarding the shutter noise. If you put a finger over the top slot, the shutter noise is reduced by (subjective) 60-80%. This is of course if haven't done the drill - the - back - cover mod.
You can still hear it but it is much reduced

Hmm, this seems to be one of those intermittent issues...removed the battery, put it back in , the issue does not manifest itself now...BUT, now I do get the ABC icon over my signal strength indicator...that just won't go away. Removed the battery again....there's the ABC icon over the signal strength again, but the call screen no longer disappears when the phone is locked and answered using the Answer button. The only way I have found to get rid of the ABC icon (temporarily) is to get into the webbrowser and browse for a couple of seconds....the ABC icon then disappears...BUT, make or receive another call and there it (ABC) is again. I guess this release is near perfect....not quite yet there.

I just discovered that too and was about to post it. Having a 1-button sleep/wake feature that works properly is excellent.
