Default A question regarding Mobile Admin and Novell

Please Login to Remove!

So I am playing around with Mobile Admin. The setup was easy enough. I got it running on my BES. I have my BES, domain controller, and my ESX servers in it so far. Everything is working great.

Now I come to my Novell servers. I cannot seem to get them working. I have ldapbindrestrictions set to 0 like the installation guide said. however it is not working. Then I realized I don't have the Novell client on the BES.

So my question is, do I need the client? If I do is there some way I can install something small to just be able to interface with my Novell servers and not have the entire client?

Rove Mobile Admin is the app I am referring to. I would like to pitch it to my manager in hopes of getting it for our core IT staff. But I would like to get it fully working first.

What do you mean? We have machines with the Novell client. I really don't want to put it on the BES. This has nothing to do with RDPing into anything. I simply want to know if the machine which has Mobile Admin on it needs to have the Novell client or if I am doing something else wrong. The installation guide did not say that the Novell client needed to be on the server so I assumed it didn't need to be.

No you do not need to have the Novell client installed on the Mobile Admin Server. The Mobile Admin Server simply needs to be able to make an LDAP connection to your eDirectory server.

For more help and faster answers to your questions you should email our support team directly at [email address], and they will be able to answer all your Mobile Admin questions.
