Sync has currupted all my Outlook 'All Day Events' - making them 24hour and turning off the All Day Event flag.

I've manually changed a years worth such Outlook events back.

I've turned off wireless sych.

I've made Outlook over write the device - so now I really don't synch - just force my Outlook calendar to device.

I had a similar problem with task sychronization - 7130 was currupting my outlook tasks - i fixed it by specifying the fields to map.

I want to do the same thing - but - here's the kicker - I have no "All Day Events" field in the field mapping column for my 7130 device! I have it in Outlook.

Is this correct?

What can I do to force the get the field 'All Day Event' to show in my device so I can force it to map to the Outlook 'All Day Event?

I resolved this issue with RIM support by (1) clearing my device Calendar (2)Importing my PIM (Outlook) tasks (3)Turning back on sync.

I still have the wireless sync turned off. But at least now I can enter calendar items in device and PIM - and manually sync.

I am not sure I would recommend BB to heavy MS Outlook users. I cannot believe the sync issues I solved with my Palm IIIx and Hotsync to Outlook 1998 via serial cable are coming back to haunt me in 2006 in a Blackberry - same old bugs a decade later!!!

I would probably go with the Windows Mobile device now the Exchange 2003 can push email.

It's a good bet I'll be there < 2yrs myself!

I was a bit premature with that post.

I still have trouble with Calendar, Tasks, Notes have trouble with date and body/text synchronization.

When I clear Calendar in 7130 then import from Outlook then synch - I get a bunch of conflicts. Resolution - always import from Outlook. All Day Events, Event Notes are both subject to being messed up during the import so that on synch they appear as updated items.

When I clear Notes in 7130 then import from Outlook then sychn - I get all my notes from the 7130 as new notes - basically that would duplicate all my notes in outlook. Resolution - always import notes from Outlook. I believe Blackberry import converts some of the text to values different from outlook so they look different on compare during sychronization - could be something as mundane as return placeholder.

When I use dates in tasks created in the 7130 - the dates are wrong or currupt when created in Outlook. Resolution - don't use dates - always import tasks from Outlook.

Repeating - I would not recommend this device to heavy Outlook users looking to synch. You should use one of the Windows Mobile devices. I will switch when cingular has one that's size is like the 7130.
