Question Problem transfering contacts from nokia to blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,
I have all my contacts stored on my nokia phone.
The problem I am facing is that in my nokia phone, I can have multiple mobile numbers/home numbers etc for each contact.
When I synced my nokia to outlook, all contacts that had 2 mobile numbers were synced to another category (1 mobile and 1 'car' category).
When I transfered frm outlook to blackberry, only 1 mobile number for each contact transfered.
I hope I explained my problem clearly.

Is there any way by which we can add more than 1 mobile number per contact on blackberry? I would assume blackberry developers had that much sense but I was wrong.
How do I go about transfering ALL of my nokia contacts to my blackberry?
Also, is it possible to rename exisiting categories or add new ones on outlook? I cant seem to display more than 4 categories per contact on outlook?
Thank you very much in advance for all replies!

There are user fields in the blackberry address book. I have never done this, but perhaps you could map outlook to one of these in desktop manager.

Maybe you have now used it, but is it possible to explain what you said a little more in detail so maybe I can go about trying to figure out how to do this.
Thanks!

With your blackberry connected to PC, launch the sync module in desktop manager, click on the configuration tab, then configure sync button, select outlook address book, then configure button, and then select advanced settings. Then select field mapping button and go from there.

^^exactly what he said. You can map your 2nd mobile# to "other" in the BB. Another home# can be mapped to User-Defined in the BB.

You won't get "exactly" what you are asking for (such as two home #s) but it will be close.

I ended up putting all the second numbers in the 'pager' category.
I am still very pissed with blackberry for this mistake though!!

I am new in this forum; arriving just because of this same problem of transfering contacts from Nokia to Blackberry.

I will highly appreciate if someone could give me a step by step explanation of how I can transfer all my contacts from my nokia N76 to my new blackberry 8300. I have not been using outlook express so the explanation should begin from there.

Thank you very much for your help.
