Default new mac, snow leopard and Pocketmac - made for each other?

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently using Pocketmac with my macbook pro 17" running tiger 10.4. Syncing with Entourage 2004 and it "kind of" works.

Now, I am taking stock of a new macbook pro 17 and it runs Snow Leopard - also, I will be really wanting to use Entourage 2008, not 2004.

Does anyone know if this works well? sync the following well?:

1/ Entourage Notes
2/ Entourage tasks
3/ Entourage Calendar
4/ Entourage Contacts

anyone actual have this same set up?

Would really hate to have to waste a load of time, only to find some fundamental flaws and issues here?

Works OK for me, but not for others. There is a DM for Mac coming out soon so this could be a moot issue once that happens.

Don't know why it works for some and not others. There are quite a few apps that way. Depends on a lot of things I guess.

It probably works for many, if not most. The ones that have problems are the ones who post and are the "loudest".

My device is pretty basic, not a lot of apps and nothing exotic. Got lots of free memory, too.

3rd party syncing?

I'm on a MacBook Pro & I use Missing Sync for BB from Mark/Space. It works for me, but every now and then it has a hiccup. Hope RIM gets it right for the Mac, we need something that works without having to rely on a 3rd. party app. to do their job.

PocketMac seems to work best for folks like me who are using older, pre-Intel Macs. On my PowerMac G4 it has worked beautifully.

Once you get to the G5 Macs you see more problems with PocketMac. For *some* of these folks the solution seems to be to buy Mark/Space's Missing Sync.

Once you get to the Intel-based Macs, both these syncing solutions seem hit-or-miss. Snow Leopard has cured these ills for a lot of users, but others continue to have problems.

BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac promises to be the savior of us all. Due "sometime in September", it's still MIA. BlackBerry Blog has a good review: BlackBerry Desktop Software: Coming Soon to a Mac Near You! - The Official BlackBerry Blog
For now, it's a waiting game. Familiar territory for us Mac users.
