Hi all,

Last night my 9700 suddenly restarted by itself and set everything back to factory setting including the OS to .423
After i restore everything i am unable to upgrade the OS through DM (no new updates are available).
anyone has this kind of problem? any advice on how to do so i can upgrade the OS through DM?

So, you're saying that you HAD a newer version of the OS but last night it restarted itself, lost all the data and reverted the OS to an older version than what you had?

Well that would be a first because that is not possible for the device to "revert" on it's own to an old OS. You must have caused it somehow. Did you plug it in to the computer and do anything?

Follow the instructions in the first post of the thread below to upgrade to the latest OS. Then restore your backup if you have one.

I am wondering if somehow the OP accepted an "invitation" to an OTA up/downgrade from their provider...

hmmm i put auto on/off on last night but i don't think that would cause my bb to revert its OS to .423

I got .442 before and after it restarted i lost all my contacts, my BBM contacts, my email...what was left was the 3rd party software like quickpull, viigo, etc

anyway, i had restore everything but cannot do upgrade OS from DM

i was just curious what could cause this though
