Default AT&T Offer any "price protection"

Please Login to Remove!

I bought a bold last week, and now they are half price ($99).

Anybody know if AT&T will refund the difference between what I paid last week and the price today?

Thanks.

in the past i HAVE gotten a refund for the difference from att when i bought my 8310 and a couple weeks later it dropped a $100 for the holidays. in this case though, the sale price is for "new customers" so if you upgraded like me, we might be screwed. i think i will try anyways and see what happens.

Yep... I'm going to give it a shot. Won't hurt to ask.

You have 30 days to return the purchase for refund with AT&T. Tell them you want to return the phone and buy another one at the new price. Rather than deal with the return, they will refund the difference. Win-win. You: get the cheaper price and don't have to re-setup your phone and AT&T: doesn't have to deal with returned phone and has a happy customer.

I went to the at&t store where I purchased the phone and they gave me a $100 credit to my account. When I log into my wireless account I can see the credit on my bill.

You do have the option of going the return route, but they can charge you a re-stocking fee for the opened item.

Thanks. Exactly where do you see the credit online? I supposedly have one, but I can't see it.

After you login with your number, in the upper left hand corner you should see a "Bill & Payments" section. This area will list your "Last Payment Received" and below that will list the "Credit Balance".

I'll be amazed if you are actually granted the mail-in rebate after receiving it in the store.

It's not a mail-in rebate that they received. AT&T now offers it for $199 plus the $100 mail-in rebate, for a total of $99. They are also offering a no contract price of $349.

So, they just got the difference between the $299 and $199. They will still get the $100 mail-in rebate to bring it down to $99.

Read my post again. My situation is different than what your describing. I actually got the difference back from 299 to 99. That's 200 cash back in my pocket. In addition, I already sent in my MIR a couple weeks ago when I bought the phone. So after I receive the MIR, I will have payed nothing. I know this will work cause I have done it before. A few years ago a bought a pearl, sent in the MIR, 2 weeks later exchanged it for a curve and got a MIR for that to. I received BOTH in the mail.

I am aware of that, but you misread the post I was responding to.
