Ok. I tried your directions for about 8-10 times already and it doesn't help that's why I tried BBSAK. Will try it again using DM only. Thanks.

EDIT:

-I saw net_rim_bb_browser_daemon cod being removed... device is restarting...

-Device has restarted... Backup and restore -> advance -> selected the service book backup (left pane) and moved to right pane of window...

-Put back net_rim_bb_browser_daemon cod file back to java folder... Apploader -> add/remove -> clicked next button and then finish button... device restarting...

-Device restarted... Browser icon appeared for a split second then disappeared again...

-Still shows "gprs". Turned mobile network connection off/on 5 times and nothing changed.

All is fine now. I guess it has to do with the network signal as I toggled the network mode from 2G to 2G/3G (while I'm in a different location) several times and it picked up EDGE right away and so far holding fine.

Thanks!

I am in a location with weak cellular radio signal (none to 2 bars) and my problem resurfaced.

When everything is fine (strong signal, signal shows "GPRS" or "EDGE"), the first entry in host routing table when clicked shows "APN: Blackberry.net". When signal is low (signal shows "gprs" and NOT "GPRS"), the same HRT entry shows/changes to "APN: emgsm.vzw3g.com". What gives? I'm sure that if the APN stays with Blackberry.net, there will be no problem. Why is it changing to the Verizon address?

I get my emails, BBM messages though when in wifi (wifi logo is white but with "gprs" signal). If I turn off wifi = no email/BBM. If I reboot, browser disappears and I have to send service books again for it to re-appear (this doesn't happen when I have signal showing "GPRS" or "EDGE").

Thanks!

I think I found the problem.

When I connect to my Mac and sync or use BB DM for Mac (I'm not sure about DM for Win), it connects to Verizon and downloads some configuration files.

Today, I have been in exactly the same places where I used to lose BIS connection and I'm still fine. Only difference is I have not used BB DM yet. The first entry's APN in HRT stays at blackberry.net (it changes to emgsm.vzw3g.com whenever I lose BIS).

Hope I am correct and for those having the same problem with the 9550, you can try this (disable internet access whenever you sync via DM) and let me know the results.

Thanks.
