Default T-Mobile in USA, no 3G?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using my Rogers Bold here in the states, I set it for 2G only, because I didn't think they had 3G in Phoenix. They do but my phone won't pick it up. The folks at the Tmobile store said it's becuase they are different networks set up for ATT and Rogers.

Anything I can do? I love the phone either way.

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

Yeah for some reason TMO opted to use a different frequency for 3G

@tryinit, do you have BIS or BES? Did you get all your Service Books? If using BIS does your internet work? I've been looking at getting a Bold w/ BIS on T-mobile but leary of what won't work. Thanks in advance.

It's best to start your own thread or to PM tryinit, but to answer your questions:

1) Both BIS and BES work on T-Mobile U.S.
2) You will not have your Browser or MMS service books, so those features won't work.
3) In order to use the internet, you will have to download Opera Mini or something along those lines for web surfing.

And - no matter whether you are on BIS or BES or no data plan at all, you will never be able to take an AT&T (or Rogers) Bold and get 3G on T-Mobile.
