I just came back to BlackBerry from the iPhone 4 yesterday...and bought a new 9700! Seeing all the positive press about the 5.0.0.656 OS build, I loaded it this morning. All is well, except...

Now I can't recieve any SMS text messages!

I tried a battery pull, and still no luck.

Can anybody tell me if this is a known glitch in the build, or can somebody recommend a different build version that plays nicer with AT&T?

SMS is a carrier issue in most cases. Call the carrier and make sure that SMS is enabled on your device.

Ugh!

Feel stupid...but apparently, my very nice and helpful AT&T salesperson forgot to switch SMS provisioning from my iPhone plan to my BIS one...hence the inability to send/recieve messages.

I guess I am a typical BB'er that feels like anything can be fixed with a battery pull...unless it's something serious!
