Question How to group text messages into conversations?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all - I've been lurking around this forum for a few weeks and recently became a BB user when my husband replaced my Treo 650 with a shiney new Pearl.

One thing I'm frustrated with is the amount of Text messages that pile up in the messages inbox. On my Treo, there was always one "thread" for each contact and new messages were appended to the old ones in an ongoing thread.

I see that my BB is doing this also, but it does it in a new message each time. Thus flooding my inbox with text after text, much like an email inbox. Is there a way to have a single entry text conversation?

Hmmm I guess what I want is the look of the BB instant messenger for my texts!

there are themes that group all the SMS and MMS into there own folder but thats about it. I believe the O2 themes do this if I remember right take a look. you should also update your OS to the new O2 OS in order for this to work properly

This is one great feature I miss coming from a Treo 650. It only made sense to group messages from the same person. Without it, it makes the inbox VERY cluttered. To my knowledge the Treo is the only phone that does this.

Default Do O2 themes group SMS separately?

I thought Vodafone Today was the only theme grouping SMS in a separate inbox. Do any of the themes in the O2 update do same thing?

Coming over from the Treo, SMS conversation threads is the one thing I miss most. Hopefully RIM or some developer will implement that at some point... How difficult can it be?

Vodafone Today is one of the themes you need to unlock by installing a customized Blackberry.alx file. Do a search on unlocking themes.
