Exclamation Best Portable Keyboard that works with Enterprise Server??

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all, I am looking for a portable keyboard for my Blackberry Curve. Currently, i'm on a Blackberry Enterprise Server. The reason why that's relevant is because I recently purchased a Freedom Universal Keyboard (bluetooth) and after connecting it I was unable to type on it because of our company BES IT Policy (the company that makes the keyboard suggested looser restrictions to our BES server but that's not going to happen). I need any type of keyboard, bluetooth or not, that I can use to type to my Blackberry.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wirelessly posted (Pearl: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If your BES limits an external keyboard through it's policy it is going to restrict any keyboard. The issue isn't the keyboard, it is your BES policy.

Is event injection (is that the right phrase?) turned off by default on BES? Do I really have to load the software/drivers for each different keyboard my users want to use?

Yes (at least I am pretty sure it is) and yes. I use the Freedom BT keyboard (you can see a huge thread on it in the Reviews forum) and it works very well. I will say though it took a load of work to get it functioning correctly. The manufacturer actually had to work with my BES provider (MailStreet) to get it all working. The Freedom guys are awesome btw...you won't regret buying their product assuming you can get your BES set up correctly.
