it was/is not building the application different...

let me explain what I did (wrong)... When I build the application with my IDE I get 1 x jad (with a internal reference to one cod) and 1 x cod itself - when the cod have a quite a small size, then everything is fine...

but since a couple of builds the file size was getting bigger and bigger and so the jad contained references to 3 different cod's (while there was still only a single cod created by the IDE) - IDE btw. is the Integrated Development Environment - so in the past I manually edited the JAD, so it only contained a single reference to the COD... that worked quite well for my Storm - and others did also not had issues.

I knew already, that a COD can be also a archive containing sub-cod files... and finally it made "click" in my head... instead of patching the JAD each time the key is to UNPACK the IDE created COD and provide the JAD + all the COD parts... placing all that in a single folder on the webserver...

Now I can even test OTA-Installation with the Phone Simulators (which I was not able in the past)... So I always "patched" at the wrong end and since a few minutes the "correct" files should be on the webserver and I just hope, that all OTA-installer issues with the other devices are solved also.
That makes sense now as to the reason for the 907 error!

Wow ... I go away for a day and two new updates! That's productivity!

When I installed 0.4.10 I had to reboot my Pearl 8100, and I don't remember having to do this for earlier releases. Apologies for the off-topic question, but what makes an application require a reboot after installation?

Here is the answer to your question:

Well - as I already tried to ask:
Can you send the file with the default BB-eMail-Composer? YES|NO ?

if NO - go to the BBFileScout options and uncheck "use BB-default eMail composer" - now try to send an attachment from BBFileScout (a dialogue opens wher you enter recipient, subject and email body text) - then press the SEND-Button.

so yes i can use with the default bb email composer but when i uncheck it i get the sign send email but he never arrive
second after i unchecked it and save he didnt saved after i sent the mail
thx

I am not sure, IF I am going to understand you correctly - but when sending attachments via the default BB-Email composer works fine for you - then simply use it. [the self written eMailComposer ist just a work around for people who can't attach this file types with the default BB-Email composer]

I am curious to know if anyone had any issues with their Media Caard afer install?

I did the OTA install earlier today. This evening I wanted to transfer some images to my Media Card from some e-mails and was unable to find my Media Card. I could find all kind of "device" folders but was unable to locate tmy media card and the folders on the card.

I came home and plugged in via USB and received a notice that the media card needed to be reformatted. I unplugged USB, uninstalled BB File Scout and rebooted.

Everything is running normal again and I can access my Media Card again.

I have never had any problems whatsoever with the card until I installed this program OTA?

I went back and d/l the zip file version to my desktop and I am going to reinstall via DM but I just figured I would throw what I experienced in the hat.

If you try to access your media card while connected up to a USB port you won't be able to find the card. This has happened twice to me and both times card access was back to normal when unplugged. Try it and see, maybe you're having the same problem.

Indeed!

On the reboot, it must be still running when you installed it?

I will test it on crash bugs again. Hopefully you stamped out all of those bugs! :D

Okay heres the results of test... with same protected file...

Open file: Uncaught exception: invalid value then program closes.

Move file: Dialog: net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAccessExecptio n I notice that theres new file with same name as original file appeared, however. I click OK. Dialog closes and it's in regular state. No more crash there, but new file is a little odd. I deleted the new file so I can test next one...

Copy file: Same error and new file thing as before. Didn't crash or anything but new files there.

Rename file: Dialog: File System Error I click OK. It resumes just fine. However the error message is a little vague on why error happened...

zip file: It shows same error, then creates an empty zip file.

Email file: Weird! It showed same error as move, but then email opens with the attachment! I sent it to home email and checked it out. The file was said to be 123 bytes big, but when I opened with notepad it was empty. Maybe it shouldn't open email when it have those sort of errors? Dunno.

It seems to be much more stable than before. However there seems to be some polish still needed, the errors usually are very techy or vague, and file creation is a little odd for copy and move.

Oh and I made sure it was closed when I installed it, and it still needed to reboot my phone. I don't know why it is the case now.

Has anyone removed some of the INTERNAL RINGTONES that come with the various phones? I don't know how much space they take up but there are a lot of them and many/most of them I'm not interested in. I just don't want to blow up my 8830 unnecessarily.

that's really a hard one - but just as confirmation when you see this exception Dialog there is no:

"ReadContent 'read' caused:"

or

"ReadContent 'byte2string' caused:"

right ?

nice recent update- however why can't we open pdf files directly from your program as we can with word and excel docs??

Can you add support for this as many of us have Repligo reader on the devices for pdf viewing.

thanks for the app.

@emacf1 : yeap, I am in Austria (aber bin nicht ein Österreicher).

IF I try and read that "medialoader.ml" I see "ReadContent 'read' caused: null".

FYI : IF I try to copy one of the system media files to the SD Card I tend to see "net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAceessExcepti on". (Not that I really need to copy them).
