All sms messages are combined in one chat sequence under the sender of the first sms that is in the inbox irrespective of where the message came from.

The only way to determine the sender is by deleting the sms messages after reading them so future sms becomes the first in the inbox.

Hi all, I have the same problem except I'm a mac user. Is there anyway of fixing this bug? Or perhaps just downgrading back to the previous blackberry os?

Default Similar SMS issue

Hi Lester,

Thanks for your response, I have a similar issue and hope you can advise me as well, i recently purchased a 9700 last saturday and it was locked to Tmobile, I unlocked the device on the same day as I use O2,
Currently when i send text messages the system replaces the letter "i" with "?" symbol it happens intermittently like every other 2 or 3 messages. also i noticed that when i type a mobile number in to call before the 5th digit gets typed in , the system changes these numbers to letters or alphabets.

I did some upgrade to the software and now under options and about section i see
Smartphone v5.0.0.351 platform 5.1.0.98
cryptographic kernel v3.8.5.85
brand version: 1.0.123.232o
it also has some microeditions

Please advise in this regard and thanks in advance.

Ayo

Hi Lester,

I had the sms bug and I did exactly what you said, and the result was the problem was removed so was the sms/mms icon (inbox) with it!

I lost all my BB messenger contacts too!

since I upgraded my 9700 Bold software things changed and I am not sure if its to the better.

now I cant find the sms/mms inbox, its all in the general inbox icon with all the messenger msgs and the phone calls log

please advice me this phone is driving me crazy
note that I am a first time BB user and I don't really know much.
