Ok..I've been reading a lot of about this 4.2 version for the 8700 series which comes stock with the 8100.

I've searched and I couldn't find a definte answer.

I went the BB site and it showed the 4.2v for DL

Now is that applicable for the 8700c?

I bought my 8700c 2 weeks ago from cingular store and it has 4.1 if that helps...

The DL is NOT the same as the OS....someone on the forums has a test version of the 4.2 OS but the DL and the OS are not the same.

Do not try to load that onto your BB unless you feel like not using you BB for a long time.

To clarify:

Desktop Manager - Program for your desktop. Version 4.2 is available for download, and includes Device Switcher and Media Management (for handhelds with 4.2 or higher).

Handheld OS - Operating System for your Blackberry. Currently the 8100 is the only handheld that offers version 4.2. 4.1 is the current highest for BBs such as the 8700 series.

OS 4.2 is NOT available yet for anything other than the 8100 series. Believe me when I say that it will be all over this forum when it is. I promise.
