There aren't any upgrades out, but I am curious. A friend's PC? Take it to the verizon store, will they do it? Or do the do OTA firmware updates now?

Thanks guys, didn't seem to find an answer on this one.

No clue, I'm curious as well. I imagine we'd have to go to a PC for now until something better comes along.

Plenty of upgrades listed HERE. MAC users do have to upgrade from a Windows PC at the moment. I wouldn't take it to a Verizon store, do it yourself. Just make sure you create a backup before hand. No, firmware/OS updates can not be performed OTA at the moment. Rumors have circulated that this is being worked on for a future release. If this is true, then a MAC compatable loader might be a moot point (depending on how long its going to take to get it).

Currently I'm using my work laptop for upgrades and app loading but it will be interesting to see how (or will it?) work under WinXP running on an Intel Mac. Theory says it should work like running on PC hardware but you never know.

If anyone has tried, it would be good to hear a confirmation about Intel Macs. I'm still on a PPC but like all of us, an upgrade to an Intel model is only a matter of time.

Although I haven't tried a full firmware upgrade, I can confirm that basic USB sync has worked for me running Windows XP on a friend's Macbook Pro.

In fact, I've been able to sync and load applications using Windows XP under Virtual PC 7 on a Powerbook G4.
