Hmm - are you running OS 4.1 or 4.2 on your/your wife's 8700 devices? Maybe it's not working on older OS releases? I only have my 8320 to help y'all with, and it's working fine for me (no special hacks, just installed it and it works) - but it's OS 4.2.2.xxx which might be the big difference...

Hi,

I run OS 4.2.1.101 and my wife has 4.2.1 96. I also tried installing the 4.1 version and still got the same error.
I tried using the DM manager to do another install from my work computer running Vista, and got some weird error message that I've never come across before. It was not the usual no additional applications found but something totally different. I will try to post a screen shot 2morow.
I also tried posting on the developers forum but no reply yet..
Thanks for your help tho

I have setup my AT&T Curve 8310 like this:
Access point: wap.cingular
User name: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1

But still get the "connecting to server" then "I/O error" and an empty inbox. I can see a correct list of all my folders.

I am on BES plan. I am using IMAP port 143. I have build 0.3.2.

UPDATE: THIS IS MY INBOX ONLY. Other folders work fine

I'm using BB 8820 v4.5.0.52 with no data plans. Iinstalled the App. It's running fine for reading my Gmail e-mails, but now will follow the stupid question: how I could compose mails? in Logic mail I can't find such option and my BB message says:"No message services configured".

I'm workimg on WiFi

Inside LogicMail, you need to add a SMTP server on the main config screen; IMAP/POP is for reading emails only, to send one as well both must be configured.

Setup help for GMail:

It is a self-contained mail program that's like having Thunderbird on your desktop; in mobile terms you can look up ChatterEmail (Palm software) for the most popular one around. Instead of pushing your email to your device, it gives you IMAP access to your email (all folders - Sent, everything).

My personal usage: my BB device is *mine*, I only push out all my personal mails to the device. I use LogicMail to connect and read my work email on-demand as I see fit, the email is not stored or cluttering up my personal device. I can also access all my folders of email from LogicMail if needed, something you can't do with the BIS-push stuff.

Compared to IMAP, BIS is child's play. IMAP can best be compared to BES - except you don't need enterprise activation and so forth. Many of us do not use Exchange or Lotus for email at work, we use traditional IMAP email servers (Courer-IMAP, Cyrus, Dovecot, uw-imap, etc.). Many, many universities also use traditional IMAP infrastructure. BES doesn't exist or work with our email servers, it's a turnkey solution for Exchange type people.

The same stupid question: how I could compose mails? in Logic mail I can't find such option.

Inside logicmail the Outgoing (SMTP) server is configured.

I'm workimg on WiFi
