Default Outlook profile does not exist

Please Login to Remove!

Everytime I connect my 8830 to my computer (xp pro, sp2) and start synching, the desktop manager goes through the synching process then stops with this error message: The selected Microsoft Outlook profile does not exist. You have to reconfigure.
The profile is correct since all my email functions are working in my outlook. I reconfigured the profile anyway but that did not help. Any ideas? thanks.

on the desktop manager, click on options then profile options and make sure you are using the same profile you use in outlook, in some versions of DM you need to click on Email settings then Advance, there you can check the profile is the correct one

Try renaming your Outlook profile, right click outlook icon, properties, edit

Deleted the profile and made a new one and that did not help. I reset the settings of the desktop director and that fixed it. Thanks to all who responded.

Where is the Desktop Director? I've got the same problem, but am unable to find any reference to the desktop director...

This is what has worked for me. (It took me a while to find it each time it's happened.)
  • In the Desktop Manager, after updating the profile name under Options, select "Synchronize"
  • Select "Configuration" tab
  • Select "Configure Synch" button
  • Select each individual application in turn, and for each, select "setup," then "Microsoft Outlook," and use the pull-down menu to add the current profile. (Most likely it will be blank until you click the arrow.) Save each one and then do the others.
  • Log out of Windows and back in, or if you know how, manually stop all BlackBerry services and restart them. Synch should run properly this time.
