When replying to a post I usually compose in MS word and then paste into the ‘quick reply’ message box. The problem is if I want to quote a previous reply, do I highlight the text, copy and paste, then hit the quote button, then copy and paste my text and repeat as necessary. Is there a testing place on the forum where I can practice. I will now try a smilie.

Click the quote button in the post you want to reference and then copy the text. The correct [quote] tags will be added for you.

I've just done that, it automatically selected all the text, so I have deleted the last part to see what happens. Thanks for the quick reply.

that works ^^.

But why in the world would you compose your replies in Word? Not that you can't... but.

I don't understand text speak, if that's the correct expression, when I have to send a text it takes me ages because I try and use the correct grammar and punctuation. I find some of the post almost unreadable so I make a point of trying to get my few contributions correct. Put it down to a quirk of my upbringing. It does slow down the 1 to 1 though.

ok, makes sense. I don't understand most text speak either.

I don't understand most tech-speak either.

Come to think of it, I have a problem with most anything outside of English.

This is where FireFox comes in very handy. It has spell checker build it, so it underlines misspelled words just like Word does,

Yep, and as soon as that grammar checker and word guesser starts working, we'll all have it made.
