Default t zones icon - 1 two many

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7230 with t-mobile service, and I think I did something wrong in "options". I've had the BB for about 4 months and have no problem accessing web sites, getting email etc. Even now no problem, but until a few days ago I had both the t-zones icon (red circle with "t" in the middle) and the email setup icon (looks like a BB) now I just have two t-zones icons. Help!

Did you try getting your Service Book resent to you -- try logging onto http://www.tmobile.com/bwc/ and then in your Profile, get your Service resent to you.

Let me know if this works?

Ok, do you have an account at T-Mobile's Blackberry Webmail Client (B.W.C.) site?

If you have access to this webmail (it looks like Hotmail, except with a T-Mobile logo), click the "Profile" link at the top, then click the "Send Service Book" button. That's it!

If you do not have an account to T-Mobile BWC, let me know.

Default Still having problem

First, thanks very much for you patience and suggestions. I had the book sent, but nothing happened. I even did a hard reset and nothing happened. Any idea how I can fix it and what this will mean in terms of my service? Thanks, again.

Before we proceed any further, can you let me know what critical features you lost -- maybe the icon isn't essential except for setup?

Or is there a feature you need to access that has gotten lost;

Default As far as I know...

As far as I know, I haven't lost any key features - i never use the email-setup icon, but the fact that I clicked on something someplace and it was serious enough to change the icon has we concerned that something I DO use may be effected.

Don't worry -- nothing has changed on your device. Most users have the two red icons (one for WAP browser, one for email setup). For some reason, if you change the theme entry (or some such) in the options on the email setup it reverts to the generic blackberry icon. In either case, you really don't need the icon at all once your BWC is setup. Personally, I ALT-Click on it, and hide it. I hate having a dead icon on the screen.

If worse comes to worse, you can always reinstall the T-Mobile version of the BlackberryOS.

Another possibility is that T-Mobile automatically turned off the icon after the first time they sent the electronic "Service Book" signal to your BlackBerry because your email was already now setup;

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't even have the icon on my BlackBerry either.

Well, all set and was able to choose Chinese input and Locale option. However, the email received in Chinese cannot be displayed.

Anything wrong?

Thanks!

I just got the same thing! I just upgraded to 3.7 from 3.6. Prior to that, the email setup icon was something different...now it's the same icon as tzones.

May I ask you why you upgraded to 3.7?

Long story...I was installing some other software, ezcase, and I had to install the latest handheld software install from Tmobile to get it to work. After that, I got a prompt saying, do I want to upgrade my bb to 3.7 and I did.

If you want to change the icon back to the generic Blackberry icon rather than the red t-mobile icon, you can go into the Browser, then click the trackwheel and select Options, then I beleive it's under the first set of options, around two thirds of the way down, there is an entry that is called something like style, or theme, or appearence, or some such other "thang" and it is set to -1 (I think) -- delete it, and save. I think that should do it. You can always undo it if it doesn't do what you expect.

Sorry -- I am doing this from memory, as I no longer have 3.7 installed. I do recall messing around with those options, and deleting an entry that read "-1" and then noticing the the red t icon turned into a generic Blackberry icon. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I think you can play around with the entires, and if things go wrong, simply re-enter what is there now.

Mo-bile, when you were asked if you wanted to upgrade to 3.7, where did the service pack come from? I have been contemplating an upgrade to 4.0, but have been reluctant because I do not know what it will do to my T-mobile specific programs, like T-Zones. Maybe you could try reloading 3.7 from the T-Mobile website.
