Hello together

i ve a "bigger" issue.
The blackberry i got from my company is connected with a bbserver and exchange 03. We are a part of a company bundle. and we have all the contacts in ONE gal.

now i cant access to the gal. i can only search for the contacts of my company.

i ve access to both server. so if there is a setting on the server. i can change it.
i hope someone can help me this case.

I don't quite Understand. you say, all your contacts are in the company Global Address List which is Normal, and you can search all your company Contacts, which is also as expected.

You then say "you can't access the GAL, yet you can search the Company Contacts" what do you exactly mean when you say GAL ?

My english is not perfect so you may got it wrong.

We are a affilated company and we have our contacts.
We also got the contacts from our parent company and 2 other affilated companys, and we got everything in one global adress list.
We want to access from the bb device to all the contacts.
Now the bbserver mapi/ldap search checks the "company" field in the contact files i guess, because i can access to all the contacts containing our company name in that field. The other doesnt show up.
I tested with changing the other contacts company field to our company name and there is a search result.
But this cant be the soulution not?
I mean i want to seperate the contacts from our partner companys.

So is there a possibility to let the bbserver to check more than one field?
I hope this clears everything.

Basically you want to see if its possible to have different Address Books i.e. Exchange could have address books based on say "location" field.

I don't think its possible on the device as it looksup the GAL and the GAL would contain all type of recipients (Mailboxes & Contacts)

but i dont need diffrent mailboxes.
Because all contacts are in one mailbox called "besadmin".
just the contact files are diffrent. like i explained one post above.
there is just one field different > the field "companyname".
As i said there are 4 companys in a bundle.
So to seperate them, they got the names of their own company..what someone would do with common sense. but i dont get it, why bes only gives out a search result, when the contact got my company name.

example:

name: Sanjeev Velmurugan |company: Winkler --> bb device gets a search result

name: Sanjeev Velmurugan |company: Testtest --> bb device DIDNT get a search result

Why is he that fixed on MY company name? I mean that field is not even important. but somehow bes is looking after that field!!
cant he just check the name i type in?
