Default I washed my BT headset

Please Login to Remove!

Well, I'm hoping I'm not the only one in this heat crazed weather that did something stupid.
I accidentally left my BT headset Jabra BT250 in my shorts and I accidentally did the laundry and when I went to grab my headset I pondered and recalled I left them in the pocket of my shorts but it was too late.
Now I'm "toothless"
I'm in the market again and I've had to re-read a lot of the reviews so it appears that Plantronics 510 seems to be the go ahead winner right now according to Barjohn and some others.
My question is will it will work with the 7520 and PTT...as well would I be better off getting the Jabra 250v since I have extra mini-gels or is there something that is better?

Atleast you know it's clean.

LOL...good one. I used Tide with Bleach. I don't think it has been any cleaner!

Did you pull battery and try to dry it out(in the sun)?
Might still work...

check out the jabra bt500. newer, lighter version of the 250, it's louder in the ear and has noise cancellation (i think). It will also use the same gel's you have.

I've tried drying it out but not in the sun. I picked up an HS850 but the ear hook already broke so I'm in the market again. Maybe the BT500 might be the one.
Thanks

I'm still a big fan of my Plantronics Discovery 640... best headset I've ever used.

I really like everything about my 640 but it does not cancel out any of the background noise. I do a lot of driving and too many people complained about the background noise. They could hear me but distracted by the background noise.

I washed my HS850 last week, just like you did, in the pocket of my shorts. I let it dry for a day, and it turned on and paired! I thought everything was fine until I tried to make a call on it, and the person on the other end couldn't hear me. Apparently the microphone is toast. So I too am in the market.

I've tried a few bluetooth headsets, but I've never gotten over my love for the easy-off, quick-answer flip design of the Motos. The problem is, they're too damn quiet! I had hoped the H700 would remedy this, as that's what I've read online. Alas, I tried my friend's today, and it was even quieter than my old HS850! Now I'm not sure what to do. I really need something that's easy to turn on and off, or else I'll just forget it's on and the battery will be dead when I need to use it. And it needs to be on the loud side of average. I'm having a heck of a time.

I use a Scala-500 and it was pretty cheap, and I like it.
Pretty sure it has Noise cancelling, and people can hear me ok.

Guilty as charged. My H500 was left in my pants and washed over and over and over. Then dead.

I washed my H700 last week because it was left in my pocket; let if dry out for 4 or 5 days; charged it and it paired fine, but when I used it the person on the other end said it was breaking up; so I am back to using the H500 (which has better volume), but need one that will cancel out road noise. I like the design of the Motos but need noise cancellation.

Wow...I feel vindicated knowing that my lack of "pocket" checking before laundry day has resulted in some fellow BT washers in the forum...my hats off to you and I hope you find something soon. I got myself an HS850 but the earhook already broke. Oh well...maybe I should just use a "wired" one. :(

I washed my Jabra 250v and after letting it dry all day and then charge it, it paired up and works like a champ.... but I love my Jabra 500... because i don't have to carry the original charger around... i have the 6" cable that came with it in my laptop bag and it plugs into any computer....

(And we went on vacation and I forgot my BB8700c charger... found out that the Razr charger works just as well...)
