Default Battery backup while using GPS golf software

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded Greefinder Golf GPS software for my BB curve.
The software is good, but the battery of my Phone is not lasting more than 2hrs of GPS usage. That makes playing 18 holes impossible. Usually we take 4 hrs for the full game.
Does anybody know of any xtended batttery backup or portable cradles which can provide continiuos power supply to the BB, or reacharge as we play.
I am not looking for an option of buying an extra battery and changing it in the golf course in the middle of the the game.

Thanks.Atl

Who would have thunk it. That is a neat program. But, I always thought figuring those things out were part of the FUN of the game.

Default Power Saving Tips - External Power Supply

Two options...cut your power usage or increase your power capacity. Actually doing both is probably the best solution.

You can search posts or google "Blackberry power saving tips." There are some on the Blackberry site like "reduce the backlight timeout" and "reduce backlight brightness" and a bunch of others.

Another solution is to get a auxilliary power supply like the "N301 Battery Backup for BlackBerry" (google it for more info). I don't actually have one of these, but my son has something like it for his ipod touch. It adds a gadget hanging off your phone, but it can probably get you through a full round.

I've been using CaddyHawk Golf GPS and I haven't had any real battery problems yet. I just got it so time will tell.

Do you turn off radio, bluetooth, etc when you play? Also good suggestions about lowering the backlight, etc. Make sure you hold alt+back and see if you have any other apps open and then menu>exit them

you could always jig up a little 12v batt/car charger for your golf bag....really easy.
