Angry Skype and messenger

Please Login to Remove!

I have been told that skype is available for BBerry BOLD.
However I can't find the download site.
Skype.com does not have it, apparently.
Same for messenger.

Anyone able to help ?
Thanks a lot

yep... iSkoot is your best bet for Skype use. No official software from Skype yet for our Berries. iSkoot | Life on the go.

IM+ for Skype. I find it much more stable. ISkoot was always problematic for me.

I have iSkoot - but it doesn't allow you to send SMS via Skype - does IM+ allow you to do this?

When I'm abroad, my network charges me 25p for a SMS, but I can do it via Skype for 6p!

If you will notice on the Shape Services download page, there is a mention that it supports version 4.6 OS... which is the Bold. I have both IM+ for Skype and the regular IM+ running on 4.6.0.167.

Yes IM+ for Skype does have the ability to send Skype SMS.

many thanks for suggestions.
Iskoot is not free of charge. There is always a cost for a normal call to their head quarter. In my case it is Rome.
Stability is not a big problem, at least for the 6-7 times which I tried.

I will try IM+ during next weekd end.

However is IM+ completely free ?

Otehrwise there is no sense.........

No it is not free. You didn't mention you had to have free. We could have saved any number of posts. It is not free as it is developed not by Skype but by 3rd parties.

Skype has not seen fit to develop a free product for the BlackBerry. Chances are slim to none that they ever will. Edge speeds are not conducive to a VoIP experience. The Bold is still a very small market for 3G. BlackBerry has only recently had more than one or two WiFi models. Bottom line... there just has been enough market demand creating a business opportunity to generate enough new revenue to off set the development costs to give away the client. Most of the carriers are NOT in support of allowing VoIP on their phones. There could be a bit of a challenge from the carriers if this was provided. Iskoot & Shape have provided an alternative. They charge for their efforts. I caught the IM+ for Skype on sale for $15. I felt it was an excellent value for that price.
