Playing a voice file on the BB (I assume you mean for a ringtone) is exactly the same procedure you would use for an instumental. If you can record it you can play it as a ringtone in the 7100 series BB. It just isn't easy.

Search the ringtone forum and you will find there is plenty of verbage on how to convert files to BB 7100 format. i have made a number of voice files for ringtones and basically you create/copy/steal a .wav or Mp3, edit it in audio editing software, convert it to .adp in phonetools or the like, load it to an accessible source on the internet, download into your BB, try it and then do it again until you get it right. The ringtones, wallpapers etc. forum really holds your hand through the process.

My only input is that when you put it in an audio editor, jack up the volume at least twice. BB's just don't like to put out anything you can hear.

Default I have and here is what I have gotten...

http://www.simprit.com/miniringtone/index.html

This is a program that will let you take MP3s and WAV files and turn them into
ADPCM formated files for playing on the 7100.

However, if you have the 7100i you are out of luck....
I bought the program before I noticed this.

So now I am going to call Nextel Blackberry Support and do some serious *****ing. What we need is somebody who has a 7100r or 7100t to show us what service books they have for their phone. I believe if we can get the service book for that feature, we can do it with no problem.

It is total BS that the 7100i does not support this. Every other 7100 does, so it is Nextel. Not RIM.

Hope this helps.
