Default Use BB with different Carriers BIS Data plan

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am on Telus network with a BIS data plan. I have never created an account nor have I registered my handset (PIN/IMEI) on the Blackberry Telus website.

We are using our own [email address] address on Exchange server/BES EXPRESS and have activated our handsets through USB connection.

One of our users is travelling on vacation and wishes to get a BB Prepaid plan with BIS data in local country. The actual handset is unlocked.

To avoid excessive data roaming charges - will it be as simple as a sim swap and all should work including company email?

I have been reading this forum extensively but have not yet encountered any threads similar to my scenario. All that I have read is to request the current provider to release the PIN - but the PIN was never registered in the first place so there is nothing to release. correct?

Can someone please explain if this will work.

Thanks

If the user is on a BES receiving push email on their device, the carrier has the PIN/IMEI registered. That's the only way it works.

So, if your user travels and swaps the SIM out, no, the BES Data (email, etc) will not continue.
