Default BB Won't Turn On.....Red Light Staying On?

Please Login to Remove!

So while on duty today, we were on a search detail walking through the woods for about 3-4 hours and the BB was in my pocket the entire time. Once I got back to my vehicle I had to make a few calls and the phone was off and the red light was on. What does that mean??? I havent been able to turn the phone on since. Took the battery out and let the phone sit in the AC for a while. When i put the battery in the red light does not come on nor the phone????WTF???

HELP PLEASE

This could be fall-out from the bath that it took. Does it egg timer and then goto blinking read light? Or just red light no screen action?

Can you try connecting it to a charger? When you do does the behavior change if you remove the battery while the device is connected to the charger?

Not an option for the OP. Phone dunked in a sink of water last week. Follow proper care instructions and brought it back but the water indicators are all tripped.

Cant just take it to my local store.....its a city phone.....told my boss that it wasnt working today maybe due to the heat.....they are turning it in on the insurance.....I have to go into work tomorrow to drop the old one off and pick the new on up......chances are that the water incident from last week was a slow and painful death for it. Our "IT" guy said "oh the battery is just dead" then I told him that I put a new battery in the phone and nothing happened. Our "IT" guys cant even install software correctly on the server. Oh well.....and in a few months, I get to do it all over again. The city is switching to Sprint (or thats what they tell me).

So the BB lasted how many days from revival to this last incident? Actually that is common for one to work perfectly well a few days after reviving it from water, only to die a more valiant death a few days later while in use. Same happened to me a year ago on a 8700.

I think it was Tuesday, so that would make it 3 full days of it working good.

You know, in your line of business, I would invest in a Best Skins Ever for the device, a good rubberized skin, Otterbox case, and maybe a good old fashioned ziplock bag!

Good luck with the new device!

I just picked it up about an hour ago......Have to enter my personal contacts but oh well......someone else was telling me about those "Best Skin Ever". I hear nothing but good things about them.....Might end up buying one......Anyone else have any good luck with them?
