Default Problem - USB Device not recognized

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

Downloaded the darn DST patch today and now my device manager does not recognize my Pearl anymore .... keep getting USB device not recognized .... tells me that my COM 4 port is disabled - when I try to reprogram it - nothing happens. Can anyone help me ? Do I need to reload my DM ? - if so, my disk is presently at the office ;-( I'm currently running the .71 program and have never had problem with the DM prior to today.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

It would hurt nothing to reload DM, get the latest versions at the RIM website.

I've also reinstalled the DM Software - got the SP1 from RIM.

When I first plug in ...USB device is identified .... then I'm told that it is an unknown device ...and then pop up tells me that one of the USB device connected to the computer has malfunctionned and that Windows does not recognize it. All the while, the DM says disconnected. Phone does not appear as an external drive on My Computer (Windows XP). Really don't know what to do next. SHould I change the OS on the phone - I'm currently running .71. PLease help !!!!

I have the same problem. No recognition of the usb port. I tried deleting all the ports and reinstalling them, no help there. Whats weird is that my system will recognize the ports in the hardware manager, and I can even open the media card as a seperate drive, load and move sofware to and from it, but the deskop mgr will not recognize the basic hardware so I cant use the file manager or load or delete software from it. It also does not recognize the PIN on my bbery even lets my other 3 laptops work fine. And yes I have swapped cables accross all eachines and its just my desktop that has the problem. Im open fpr new ideas>>>
