Default Gmail Mobile vs BB Gmail

Please Login to Remove!

So I added my Gmail addy to my BB with their e-mail settings... it was ok but could not read and receive attachments and e-mail the way I wanted... it also sent an e-mail to my gmail over the web everytime I responded and to my bb every time I responded... that was REALLY the reason I stopped used it.... it was fast though

the GMail Mobile Notifier which I downloaded from google is good to have but it is slow slow slow to receive e-mail. I will get it 15 or 30 mins on my web gmail before the notifier even notifys me... it sucks!

what other items are out there that will let me get the full package for my gmail... THanks!

(love the storm)

I have Gmail setup through my BIS .. I use Gmail with IMAP enabled and I have no problems at all. In fact all attachments work and most of the time get instant notification of a new email.

To set up BIS with my VZW is that part of my dataplan or do I have to pay more per month?

I have connected my gmail via BIS, but yeah, having all the emails that you send come back to you is annoying.

There is a how-to on setting up a BIS email filter so emails sent by you don't appear in your BlackBerry inbox as new, but I can't post links yet so you will have to search around for it.

Ditto... works perfectly via BIS and I get it on my device as quickly if not quicker than in the email client!

And yes, go in a set up the filter. It will save you a huge headache and tons of frustration. Just add a filter, "from" field in the drop down menu, then add your email address (same one you are setting it up for) then click "do not forward messages to device"

I tried to set up the BIS with Verizon... says my PIN is already in use... but when I request a password when I am verified through my PIN it says that I have not set up an account yet?

I use the gmail application from m.google.com and reserve BES e-mail for the blackberry. Both work fine for me... no issues.

The Gmail app is definitely slower! I took it off because of this blog, it opened my eyes to why do I need both. Thanks 7 VII 7
