Default Software configuration and IT Policy

Please Login to Remove!

I created a software configuration that holds the DST patch and I was wondering how I can create a IT policy that will automatically installed the software configuration as soon as I place IT policy onto the device. Any help is appreciated.

You're talking about two different things.
IT Policies and Software Configurations aren't related in this regard. They're mutually exclusive.

You assign an IT Policy to a device, and you can also assign a Software Configuration.
When you assign a Software Configuration, by default it can take up to 4 hours to deploy to the assigned handheld.

Assigning or reassigning an IT policy will not impact the software deployment time.

Is there are way to have software install as soon as I assign the IT policy to a device or is this done with two separate steps?

As stated by the Penguin, this is done with 2 different steps. The software configuration and IT policy are independent of each other.

It doesn't have anything to do with the IT Policy.

If you want to deploy software sooner than the default 4 hour deployment interval, then you can try this.
Assign a Software Configuration to a user.
Right-click the user in BES manager and choose 'Deploy Applications'.
This *should* force the software to be delivered to the device right away.
