Can't Access Email Setup

Hello,
I opened a new account with Vodafone and was about to set up my Internet Mail Account when the system informed me that I needed to update the software. I began to do so, but accidentally canceled the process. Now, in "Setup," I cannot access the "Email Accounts" -- when I click on the icon, nothing happens.
Sometimes I am able to access that icon, but I can get no further -- when I click on "Internet Mail Account," again nothing happens.
I tried going back to my former sim card with a different carrier, thinking that perhaps it was a Vodafone issue, but the same problem persisted.
I also tried reinstalling the factory settings for email, contacts, etc, to no avail.
Is there a way to re-initiate the email accounts software update? Or do you have any other suggestions?
