email alerts question

new to the blackberry...was wondering...
i currently am set up to be notified if i have any new hotmail emails. if i look at the email & delete it from my laptop, will the notification still remain on my blackberry? if so, will a copy of the message still remain on my blackberry too even though i deleted it from my laptop? thanks!
