On November 15, 2008, a change was made to the BlackBerry® Infrastructure that requires APB PIN messages from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to be encrypted.
To resolve this issue, upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software to a version that supports encrypted APB PIN messages. The following BlackBerry Enterprise Server software versions support this feature:
- For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0.x, the following support this feature: BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 Service Pack 7 (4.0.7) and later
- For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1.x, the following support this feature: BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 4 (4.1.4) and later
Note: If a supported BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version is already active, no change is required. The APB encryption is turned on by default.
