ok i hope this is the right thread for this question. so yea i just installed 4.5 and its great so far. ive been playing with the doc2go thing and like some of the others mentioned, i cant upgrade to the premium edition. oh well. so my question is for pdfs. dataviz claims on their website that with docs2go you can read all office 2007 docs as wells as pdfs. now ive been trying over and over to get the program to open up a pdf and it just wont. first i tried from the device memory, nope. then from the media card, no dice. also this may help the one that would like to answer my question, i dont have an email plan so sending it as an attachment is impossible at the moment. i was under the impression that you could save it on the media card and open it w the program. all i want to do is read ebooks from my curve! ive tried beamberry but i dont like the server thing, i tried repligo but i couldnt get it to work, so this is really my last hope. thanks in advance.

I'm loving the free Docs to Go application. It's way superior to eOffice! I specially love the way excel works and looks just like the native one! Yesss !!

beamberry is either doing it now, or about to do native PDFs on the device, no server conversion. Also, Docs2Go doesnt support office 2007 on the BB at this time.

I have Docs2go Premium edition with my 8310 (OS .37 from Vodaphone). I plan to upgrade to .44 version. I always back up my BB before upgrading. Does anyone know if I will lose Docs2go Premium edition if I upgrade??

I am not sure if you will lose it if you upgrade... always do a backup first.

That was quick, thanks! I will upgrade and post if I lose Docs2go Premium edition or not! Anyway, the paid edition will be available in June itself, according to the dataviz website.

I installed DocumentsToGo this morning on my 8120 running .42 I also registered and followed the links to upgrade. I was taken to a page saying it is available now for $69.99 and to enter credit card info. Guess they are moving along.

I am upgraded and I am downloading it now. The fact that you can transfer it is nice. that $70 gives you 5 re-downloads as well.

Meaning that if you need to reload the OS, for $70. you can only do it 5 times?
Because I went through the 'upgrade' that gave us the free sheet-to-go. Then I updated my device, same OS, just removed a bunch of stuff to free up memory, and docs-to-go reverted back to the as-shipped version.
While I don't see myself being a big user of the software, I'm really ticked that I have to surrender my e-mail address just to het basic Excel capabilities. If it's going to be free, just included it as part of the base software. I'm also not to happy with having to pay $70 for the 'premium' version, after dropping a bunch of money for a new phone.

As in the past years, you can do without the service. Nothing lost.

Has anyone tried the policies with BES 4.1.5 and Docs to Go, would be really interested in seeing how that works out. For those of us on GW 4.1.4, we can only dream.

I was able to D/L it again after upgrading my OS (again)...for all those that have the link that you received when you upgraded to premium, simply remove the beta part...worked for me. ;)

If you do an OS upgrade after you have this new version of Docs To Go installed do the following before loading the new OS:
1. Navigate to C:/program files/common files/research in motion/loader files/<your BBModel and OS version>/
2. Rename DocumentsToGo.alx to DocumentsToGo.old.
3. Install the OS (or continue with my edits as outlined in the Optimize your BB Memory thread.)
This way when Apploader is run, the loader will pick up Docs to Go as a 3rd party app and back it up and restore it normally. If you don't delete or rename the DocumentsToGo.alx file the loading process will downgrade the Docs To Go to the version included in the OS. We'll have to do this until RIM includes the new version in the OS packages.
Good luck!
