i love my 8130, the fact that it doesnt have a full keyboard is not an issue to me althought i think my next blackberry will have a full keyboard and bigger screen. the pearl i think is a great intro device for smart phones, and i dont see myself parting ways with it for a while to come. But as i use my 8130 more and more I'm starting to crave something bigger, even though for some reason ive always prefered smaller hardware. im satsified with my pearl tough and probably would buy it again. its a great device!

I would not personally since I love the qwerty on my curve. However, I loved my Pearl when I had it..

I still do like my Pearl, but I don't think I'd buy another one. I just can't get past my hatred for the track ball--it's a rare day indeed that I don't curse it. I hate it so much. (Though admittedly this is more of a gripe about Blackberry than the Pearl specifically.)

Suretype is fine. It's too quirky for my tastes, but the ease of editing the custom dictionary largely makes up for it enough to keep from condemning it.

You know the Pearl was my first bb. I hated it, texting is my life, and I couldn't get it right with the Pearl. I hurried before my 14 days were up and got the Curve. Was in heaven, used it for 5-6 months.

I decided to give the Pearl another chance, cause I start craving a new phone every 6 months or so, lol. I figured if the feelings were the same from when I purchased it before, I could always use it as backup. I got my Pearl last month or so, I haven't put it down yet.

It does take a while to get used to Suretype, that was my biggest issue with the phone. The other day when my Pearl updated through DM, i lost suretype, not sure how it happened but I thought I was gona lose my mind, lol. I had gotten so used to it.

Anyways, now that I've learned how both phones work, yes I would buy my Pearl again. The size difference alone is enough for me. Though it's not by much, whenever i get my Curve back out, it feels like a giant. And now that suretype is learning my words, texting is a breeze. Only thing I would say my Curve holds over it, is the screen size. I'm fine without full qwerty now.

I went from Curve to Pearl. Pearl form factor rocks. Forget about Javelin, Bold, etc. Pearl size can't be beat plus no real functionality gain with another device.

While I love the size and the luscious pink goodness, I vehemently despise Suretype. I am constantly fighting with it to type the simplest words, i.e. 'see' vs 'are' ... 'has' vs 'gas' What a nightmare. I cannot wait to switch to a Curve. I need a full keyboard and the ability to type the letter I want, when I want to.

I went in 2 get a Curve...but came out with a Pearl! I would buy another Pearl...for sure. I can't put it down that it drives the old ladie crazy! Lol I just wish I had a white colord Pearl. :(

Why choose the Pearl over the Curve? I went in looking for the Pearl, and did the exact opposite, and walked out with the Curve. What are the major differences you have noticed?

I would buy the most up to date pearl, which for my company is the 8120. I have the 8100 and would easily upgrade.

The Pearl was the first phone in my long history of buying phones that finally got me to stop wanting something better. It's exactly what I've been wanting all this time! When the Curve with GPS came out I switched for a while, but then went right back to the Pearl the day the 8110 w/GPS hit the market.

However, with the slew of new devices coming out later this year and early next year, I'm bound to sway from my trusty Pearl.

I absolutely love my Pearl!!

I got a bit ticked off at T-Mo a few months ago, changed to AT&T and went with their Samsung Blackjack 2. I liked the Blackjack 2 but the Pearl is a better fit, literally and figuratively since my job is very physical and the Blackjack was always in the way.

I went back to my original Pearl 8100 soonthereafter and am looking forward to upgrading to a newer Pearl as soon as I can swing it! Go with the Pearl if you want dynamite in a small package, but I must say my brother's Curve is pretty sweet too and the Bold looks like the shizz nizzle!! Good luck!

I type while driving. Typing without looking is almost impossible on the Curve keyboard.
