Default 8800 unlocking themes

Please Login to Remove!

I am betting this is on the site somewhere, but I have searched (possibly incorrectly), but have not found it. I have loaded the 4.2.2.14 version of the BB DT mgr for my 8800. I have been looking for the following location in Windows:
c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader files

to no avail with this new DT mgr version. I also searched the entire HD for any .alx files and none come up. I have found:

c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

with an .xml with the below string

<!-- 8800 -->
<os radio="GPRS" series="8800" Colour="True" Theme="Normal" JVMLevel="1.0" VoiceNotes="True" pttApp="True" Memory="Large" KeyboardType="Qwerty" Sound="Tunes8700g" SystemSize="normal" Bluetooth="True" MMS="True" GPS="True" ThemeSupport="Enhanced" VAD="True" JPN_Input="False">0x84000E03</os>

and I am wondering if in 4.2.2.14 if this is where the changes need to be made for unlocking all themes? Any help is appreciated. I am on the ATT network if that is what might be causing this. As you can see in that above string, I do not see any reference to the vendorID.

thanks!

No, you don't edit anything in c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader besides removing\renaming the vendor.xml file.

It does not sound as if you have any handheld OS on your computer. If you did you would see the other folders.

I do have the Desktop Manager on my PC and I updated it to the 4.2.2.14 version. I wonder if I need to delete the old DT mgr software and reload it from scratch?

Desktop Manager is much, much different than BlackBerry Handheld OS.

One (Desktop Manager) is for your computer, the other (Handheld OS) is for your BlackBerry.

also strange: I only have the following 5 folders under
c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion

AppLoader
DSTUpdateLoader
Modem Drivers
RIM DeviceManager
USB Drivers

I do have my PC set to show all hidden folders, so that can't be it. I don't have any listing in any Research In Motion folders that has the Loader Files folder. I have reloaded the software that came with the unit, so it is now on 4.2.1.6 (which is from the original CD). I assume the 8800 has the OS on it since when I go to the Applications, Options, Advanced Options on the BB, it shows me all apps that are on the device (ie Core Applications set at 4.2, etc etc).

Please follow the directions here to a T:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/medi...-4-2-only.html

you need to have the handheld software on the PC as well, edit the files and then in Desktop Manager load the OS again onto the BB.

gotcha, I was missing that one. Strage tho, I do not have the file string
that has _vendorID= anywhere. Also, I don't see a ThemeSupport="Enhanced". I just have a ThemeSupport="Normal". I can see the other vendor themes on the BB when I go to the Options and Applications, so that must mean they are on the 8800, but still locked...

tried this sequence again. All I have for the FileSets is

<fileset Colour="True" series="8800|8300" Java="1.0">
for all other than AT&T vendors and for AT&T

<fileset Theme="Normal" Colour="True" series="8800|8300" Java="1.0">

Should I not be seeing the vendor codes after these?
