So far I've called 5 stores here in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area.... 2 stores said they know nothing about the 8800 and the other 3 said they hoped soon but not sure when but heard nothing about it being online only. Oh well I guess I keep waiting

I have not found a CSR in Dallas that admits to knowing when they will be available. Morever, our internal phone guys are talking about B2B availablility in weeks, not days. Not sure what the deal is there....

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!
That's ridiculous. I agree with the other guy. I'm on month to month right now and I was going to re-up for two years if the price was right, hell, even somewhat reasonable, but T-Mobile can kiss my ass for $425 on a two year for something that's been out for over two months on Cingular. Hell, for $25 more I'll buy one on EBay. What a joke. I could maybe see the Papa Bear being released as a T-Mobile exclusive being that price fully loaded, but forget this.

The price point is so high because TMO really does not want anyone to buy it.
It's release is just to "keep up" with Cingular.
They really want you to wait for the Crimson, due to be released at the end of 2007.

This post doesn't make sense. Why would any company NOT want customers to buy anything they have decided to stock? T-Mo simply could have not sold the 8800(or 8820 or whatever the heck it's gonna be called), and moved on to the next toy in line (83xx).
Furthermore, T-Mo makes the bulk of there $$$$ off contracts, not phones.

Because TMO took a lot of heat with the very delayed release of the 8700g.

I don't see how this is too much for a brand new device. When the 8800 came out for Cingular, it was $400 for a 2 yr contract was it not? or maybe it was $350.

Only way I'll get it is if Amazon.com has an upgrade offer like they do for Cingular. If that deal is available, I'll pick it up day one.

Getting it this morning
I just saw the post where they are selling them. Somebody else called me last night and told me the same. I'm headed over to T-Mobile this morning to get mine.
