The Curve is great IMO. Ringtones are completely customizable (MP3 or MIDI) and loadable from your PC (I don't bother with downloading them from my provider at all). Internet usage is good as well, Opera Mini 4 is the best full feature web browser you can get for it. The Blackberry's internal browser is decent, its like other phone's WAP broswers with some extra features.
Call reception is one of the best I've had. Better than my 8100 Pearl I've found.

Only thing to know about it is if you like all the mobile features it allows you to do (IM, Facebook, Internet, etc) get yourself an unlimited data plan. Once you get addicted to crackberry's, there's no going back :P

I agree. The Curve is the way to go. I love how smoothly I can transfer from one app to another. The reception is great even for me b/c I live in a bit of a rural area that reception isn't the greatest all the time.

Go with the Curve, you won't be disappointed.

I just got a BB curve the other day with no data plan and there is a small variety of apps let alone more than half of them require a data plan. I like the phone but I don't email so I'm contemplating on downgrading to a t-mobile shadow.... dunno yet.

Everything on the curve is perfect except the lack of apps and you HAVE to have a data plan for the apps. Reception, ringtones, browsing, pictures, videos, everything on this i can't complain about. Text messaging(or any msg'ing at that) is a huuuge relief with the full keyboard, so nice. getting between apps, the speed is fast. Overall a really good phone.

I think it is a great, well rounded device. I for one feel it is very flexable and there are a large amount of applications for it, not free, but a large number. Handango list 1757 available apps.
