CodeWeavers, the makers of Crossover Mac have listed BlackBerry Desktop Software as untested and unsupported as of yet, but it is in their compatability list. So, who is going to be the guinea pig? You can download a trial version here, and then report back to us! Personally, I've used Boot Camp and I am currently running Parallels, but I have yet to try Crossover. Someone take the leap please...

It's Intel only. I'm still fiddling with it.

I tried version 4.1 and it wont install. I tried all the bottles and it would act like it was installing then would take forever and then would stop installing.

Sadly, I also couldn't get it to install either - the Blackberry splash screen appears (which makes it seems promising) before the whole process siezes up during some extraction step.

Maybe the next release of crossover will work. I really haven't had a lot of luck with it. I can get some stuff to install but then the programs don't run very well or lock up.

I've been installing BB desktop manager 4.2 in a Win2K bottle all morning. :(

It is at the stage where it looks for previous installations. Because every step of the install process has taken a very long time to go through, I am *trying* to be patient. My CPUs are showing themselves under a pretty heavy load. This is mostly a "because I'm curious" sort of task. I've seen a very definitive statement from the devs that USB support does not currently work.

If I see anything that resembles progress, I'll update. If it doesn't go somewhere by tonight, I'm going to kill it and call it lost.

For reference: MacBook Pro 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM, OS X 10.4.7 (build 8J2135a).

Update:
After letting the installer run for 6 hours, I've given it up for now. I've posted in the Crossover forums, so there is some record of the attempt. Until Crossover supports USB, I don't see much point in pursuing this further.
