We're currently installing BES 5.0. During the install we get an error during the LDAP setting portion that says "error writing to database". After researching this online I've changed the password to something with supported characters, but this hasn't helped.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

can you post a screenshot? I don't know all the install screens by heart and can't recall what this looks like.

I apologize, but I only got half of the screen. I think this shows where I'm having the problem though.

Delete any BlackBerry databases created.

Verify the account you're installing with has proper permissions

Restart installer.

There are limits for the characters allowed in the password field. Stupid, but its real.
Change the password for the besadmin account or use a different account
