Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that GoogleMaps just came out with a newer version today. We are all waiting for the GPS. Well now GPS works.

When I used it at my home it was working perfectly. But, now I'm at work where the reception is normally bad, and now my location keeps changing. It says "within 1700 meters. Waiting for GPS"

Default Version

How can you tell what version you have?

Clicking 'about' doesnt show it.

When you first start Google Maps, it should say it right under "Google Maps." 3.0.2 just came out today if you didn't download it today, you probably don't have the updated version.

Wirelessly posted

Sweet! And people thought it was verizon. Google was the issue. Works perfect!

Can anyone of you that are trashing VZNAV for Google Maps give the rest of us a comparison of the two and why you like Google over Navigator?

I am getting ready to order my Storm, and was going to keep Navigator because I always liked it. But if there is someone that can tell me why Google is so much better, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

VZ nav is horrible, it is clunky and super processor intensive from what I have experienced it bogs the machine down and is kind of boggy. Google is google... and free.

Google is so innovative and has contributed so much to technology its hard not to suppot anything they put out... yea I am a google fanboy.

Since when does Google Maps have automatic turn-by-turn directions? I didn't think it did. That is my main reason in keeping VZNav.

Are folks uninstalling the old version (i.e. 3.0.1) first, or just installing right over the old one?

Default GoogleMaps 3.0.2 GPS works

Mine still shows within 1300 meters as it showed in the last version. GPS is set to location on.

But wait, it was just 2 weeks ago that I read this:

It must just be coincidence that Verizon unlocked the GPS on the same day that the new version of Google Maps came out.

So, is GM 3.0.1 working with the GPS now, too? Or did those meanies at Verizon only unlock it for GM 3.0.2?

ps. That's right. *I* got the last chocolate milk! LOL!
